Xherdan Shaqiri says it is no secret he will be leaving relegated Stoke City this summer, with the winger having been linked with Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.

The Switzerland international could not help the Potters avoid slipping through the Premier League trapdoor in the recently concluded season, but he will not be remaining at the club to take part in the slog of a Championship campaign.

Shaqiri is already attracting interest from a number of clubs and makes no bones about the fact his time at the Potters is coming to an end.

He told the Aargauer Zeitung: "Of course, yes, it is no longer a secret that I will leave Stoke City."

However, although the winger is ready to leave Stoke, he is not ready to leave English football if he receives a good offer.

Shaqiri feels that the Premier League suits his game down to the ground and would welcome the chance to stay in the English top flight, which could be given to him if Everton, Tottenham or Southampton firm up their interest.

"I think the league is perfect for me.

"I would love to stay in England, but I do not want to rule anything out.

"It is the best league with the best players – simple", Shaqiri added.

The 26-year-old played in all but two of Stoke's Premier League games this season, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists for his team-mates.

His deal with the Potters runs until 2020.
