Newcastle United are not chasing Turkish midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, despite claims that a bid has been made by the Magpies.

The 25-year-old, who came through the ranks at Arsenal, is currently on the books at Turkish giants Besiktas.

It has been claimed that Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez wants to take the midfielder to St. James' Park, with talk of a £13m bid being lodged with Besiktas.

But according to the Shields Gazette, Newcastle have not made a bid for Ozyakup and he is not currently a target for the Premier League side.

Ozyakup has become a key man at Besiktas and cost the Turkish club just €500,000 to sign from Arsenal.
