Juventus have knocked back a big money offer from Manchester City for their midfielder Miralem Pjanic this summer, it has been claimed.

Pep Guardiola is in the market for a midfield general in the ongoing window and has been actively trying to take Napoli’s Jorginho to Manchester City over the last month.

However, negotiations with Napoli have been frustrating as the club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already rejected an offer from the Premier League champions and has been refusing to lower his financial demands.

While Jorginho remains a priority, it seems Manchester City are also looking at other options and Pjanic is claimed to have emerged as a possible target for the club.

And according to Turin based daily Tuttosport, Manchester City even tabled a big money offer for the midfielder, but Juventus were quick to reject the offer from the blue side of Manchester.

It has been claimed that Manchester City offered a fee of €50m for Pjanic, but Juventus are in no mood to lose their midfield star this summer and rejected it out of hand.

The Italian champions have their eyes on Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and are aware selling Pjanic could raise considerable funds to pursue the Serbian’s signature.

However, the Juventus hierarchy believe it would be too big a gamble to sell a player of his quality at the moment.
