Paris Saint-Germain have prioritised selling Liverpool linked winger Goncalo Guedes this summer to balance the books, in a boost for the Reds in their interest in him.

Guedes spent last season on loan at Valencia and PSG have a verbal agreement in place with the Spanish club to sell him, but the French champions are trying to maximise their profits from his sale.

PSG are facing pressure from UEFA over their spending and a decision on whether to impose fresh sanctions on the club is expected at the end of the week.

The Parisians are trying frantically to balance their books and escape harsh punishments – and selling Guedes this summer has emerged as one of their priorities.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, PSG are looking at a fee north of €45m from Guedes’ departure and are scouring the market for clubs who would be able to pay them such a figure.

Liverpool have been linked with having an interest in the winger, but it is unclear whether the Reds are prepared to match PSG’s valuation of the player.

The Parisians are potentially looking at Wolves as Guedes’ next destination and are hopeful Jorge Mendes will be able to take the winger to the newly promoted Premier League club.

The Portuguese has a contract until 2021 with the Parisians.
