Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the likely frontrunners to secure the signature of Xhedran Shaqiri after Stoke City's relegation from the Premier League, as fans weigh in on the move.
Southampton are also interested in the winger, but Spurs may be a more attractive move; the pair are claimed to be ready to pay his release clause at Stoke.
The Swiss player, who arrived in the Premier League back in 2015, burst on to the scene with his performances for Basel in Swiss Super League before Bayern Munich came calling in 2012.
Although he failed to establish himself in the Bundesliga, he did spend three trophy laden years at the club, winning the FIFA Club World Cup as well as the Champions League.
Shaqiri then moved on to Inter Milan and after an unsuccesful season he arrived in England for a then club record transfer amount of £12m.
With Premier League experience in the bag, the 26-year-old, who scored seven goals and assited six last season could be reliable addition to Mauricio Pochettino's side.
Stoke were relegated from the Premier League this season and as such Shaqiri is ready to move on. And Tottenham fans have mostly been left happy with the prospect of him at White Hart Lane.
No brainer for me….great back up option for Ericcson…..

Hearing that Shaqiri is on his way out of Stoke; Soton and Spurs are in for him. At 26, he still has many good years in him, he would be a great option for Spurs and could even command a starting place if he performs well. It's clear he needs a quality team. #shaqiri #Thfc

What signing quality proven players?
If he was coming directly in from Bayern or Inter everyone would love this , but it's because he's at Stoke. Shaqiri is quality, yes lacks the work ethic maybe but that can change.— THFC_EssexAdams (@Neil_I_Am37) June 5, 2018
