Saint-Etienne have been offered the chance to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The former Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United star is out of contract at Selhurst Park this summer, but the Eagles have been holding talks aimed at keeping hold of him.

But Cabaye's representatives are looking for the best option for their client and a return to France is a possibility.

The midfielder has been offered to Saint-Etienne, according to Yahoo Sport France.

But at present the midfielder is out of reach financially for the team that finished seventh in Ligue 1 in the recently concluded campaign.
