An Inter representative will watch Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele in action for Belgium against Egypt tonight.

The 30-year-old Belgian has emerged as Inter’s priority midfield target this summer and the club are pushing hard to take him to Italy in the ongoing window.

Dembele has knocked back an offer of a new contract and with his current deal running out next summer, Tottenham are under pressure to take a decision on his future soon.

Inter have already been in talks with Tottenham, but Spurs’ €30m asking price has put the brakes on negotiations as the Nerazzurri are unwilling to offer such a figure at the moment.

However, the Nerazzurri have not given up hope of signing the Belgian and according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, an Inter official will observe Dembele’s performance against Egypt tonight at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels.

Dembele will be in action for Belgium as part of their World Cup preparations and Inter are keen to keep an eye on the midfielder ahead of making any decisive move.

The Serie A giants are expected to return to the negotiating table with Tottenham soon and are reportedly prepared to offer West Ham loan star Joao Mario as part of a deal to sign Dembele.

Inter are not expecting to find it difficult to agree personal terms with the player, but an agreement with Tottenham is still a long way off.
