Matej Vydra, who has been linked with Leeds United this summer, has joined Premier League side Burnley from Derby County.

Frank Lampard's Derby have been looking to offload Vydra, with FFP concerns and other signings arriving at Pride Park.

Leeds were ready to meet Derby's asking price for Vydra and he was spotted in Leeds, but the deal stalled over the striker's personal terms.

And now there is no chance of Vydra ending up at Elland Road as he has made the jump up to the Premier League, signing a three-year contract with Sean Dyche's Burnley.

The 26-year-old, who scored goals regularly in the Championship, is excited by the challenge that awaits him at Turf Moor.

Vydra told Burnley's official site: "I think five years ago I was like a kid in the Premier League.

"Now I feel I have more experience in English football, I speak better English and I have learned more in England, so I hope I’m a better player than five years ago", the striker added.

Burnley will be looking for Vydra to hit the ground running in the Premier League as they look to enjoy another memorable campaign in the top flight.

The striker will also have Europa League football to look forward to with the Clarets.
