Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has vowed to replace Declan John and Josh Windass in his squad.

The Gers opted to sell both players on Thursday, with John making the move to Swansea City, while Windass joined him in the English Championship by signing for Wigan Athletic.

While the transfer window is now closed for Premier League clubs to make signings, the window does remain open in Scotland.

And Gerrard does intend to make sure he replaces both John and Windass, to bring his squad back up to full strength.

"Obviously a couple of bodies have gone out over the last couple of days", Gerrard said in a press conference.

"With time, we will try and replace those bodies."

However, the Rangers boss insists that he is happy with the strength in depth he currently has within his squad at Ibrox.

"But in terms of the squad strength in depth, I'm very happy", Gerrard added.

Rangers are next in action on Sunday when they play host to St Mirren at Ibrox, before then heading to Slovenia for the second leg of their Europa League third qualifying round tie against Maribor.

The Gers won the first leg 3-1 on Thursay night.
