Nice are showing interest in signing Myziane Maolida, who was on Newcastle United's radar as a possible addition.

With the transfer window in the Premier League having closed and English clubs now being firmly out of the picture as rivals, a number of sides across Europe are swinging into action.

Lyon were not keen to sell Maolida to Newcastle, with only a big bid being able to change their tune, but the situation could be different now the window has taken the Magpies out of the picture.

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, Nice are now keen on Maolida and are plotting to sign him on a loan deal.

Lyon could opt to loan the 19-year-old out to further his development.

Nice are looking closely at a loan for the France Under-19 international, who is considered one of the brightest prospects of his generation.

There is also interest in Maolida from Spain's La Liga.

Real Betis are interested, but may have to trim their squad before making a move.
