Steven Gerrard has admitted that Rangers could take advantage of the Premier League transfer window now having shut.

The Premier League opted to close its window for its clubs to buy players on 9th August, a change no other country in Europe followed, meaning windows are still open elsewhere across the continent.

The window remains firmly open in Scotland until the end of the month and Gerrard has admitted that Rangers could use it to their advantage.

Gerrard was asked at a press conference whether the window situation can be an advantage for Rangers, in that they could move unopposed for players in England who are not playing in the initial weeks of the season, potentially on loan.

And the Rangers manager replied: "Possibly."

Asked if it is something he has thought about, Gerrard added: "Possibly."

Rangers sold left-back Declan John and midfielder Josh Windass on Premier League deadline day, meaning they have more funds with which to do their remaining transfer business.

And if the Gers can book a spot in the group stage of the Europa League, then Gerrard could have even more cash to spend.
