Mauricio Pochettino has named his Tottenham Hotspur starting eleven and substitutes for their clash against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park later today.
Harry Kane, Eric and Dele Alli are starting despite returning from their post-World Cup break and France World Cup winning captain Hugo Lloris has also taken his position between the sticks. Lucas Moura also starts.
Serge Aurier has been deployed at right-back, with Kieran Trippier kept out of the squad. Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen will form the centre-back pairing. Mousa Dembele, Heung-Min Son and Fernanado Llorente are some of the options Pochettino has on the bench.
With no new faces joining the squad in the summer, Pochettino and his team are under pressure to get off to a good start to the season in order to justify stasis during the transfer window.
