Rangers midfielder Lassana Coulibaly will undergo a scan on his thigh injury later today to determine the extent of the problem.

The midfielder has impressed since joining Rangers on loan this summer and has been a key reason behind their unbeaten start to the season in all competitions.

He was absent from Rangers’ 0-0 draw against NK Maribor on Thursday night after picking up a thigh strain in their 2-0 win over St. Mirren last weekend at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard has been confident that the injury is not serious, but the club are not taking chances regarding the fitness of one of their summer signings.

And according to STV, the midfielder will undergo a precautionary scan later this afternoon to determine extent of the injury.

The Glasgow giants are keen to avoid any situations which could derail their good start to the season and are hopeful of receiving good news on Coulibaly’s injury.

Gerrard has made an unbeaten start to his career in management at Rangers and will hope to have the midfielder fit and ready for the trip to Kilmarnock on Sunday.

And more importantly he wants his best players available for their Europa League playoff tie against Russian outfit FC Ufa.
