Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino believes that Fulham might need time to adapt after being promoted to the Premier League this season and signing so many players.

The Cottagers found their way back to the English top flight this term after finishing the 2017/18 season as the winners of the Championship playoffs.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s men then spent heavily in the transfer market, bringing in as many as seven players in order to strengthen their squad.

Fulham's first game of the 2018/19 season ended in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace and Pochettino insists that the newcomers might find it difficult at the very beginning.

The Argentine manager though believes that Fulham's situation will not mean that the Lilywhites will find it easy on Saturday.

“This game will be tough”, Pochettino told his club's official website.

“It’s true it was a very busy transfer window for Fulham.

"They’ve signed players and it’s always difficult because you need to find your balance and you need time to adapt into the Premier League from the Championship

“The manager loves to play football and they will come to Wembley and try to play.”

Tottenham started their own Premier League campaign by scoring a 2-1 win away at Newcastle United.
