Mauricio Pochettino has called for improvements from his Tottenham Hotspur team following their 3-1 win over Fulham at Wembley in Premier League action.

Tottenham dominated proceedings from the beginning and went close to scoring but missed golden opportunities with Lucas Moura and Harry Kane being the main culprits in fluffing chances in the beginning.

Fulham played some nice football in between but Tottenham always looked the more threatening team and their patience was rewarded when Lucas converted a fine finish after receiving a cute flick from Kieran Trippier on the stroke of half time.

The away side fought back after the break and scored their first goal since returning to the top flight when Aleksandar Mitrovic lost his balance while trying to meet a cross but was aware enough to convert a tap in from Ryan Sessegnon while still being on the floor.

Tottenham pushed to get back their lead and were denied by Fulham goalkeeper Fabri as his fingers met a shot from Dele Alli on the hour mark.

But Spurs regained their lead when Kieran Trippier converted a sumptuous free-kick from 25 yards in the 74th minute and just three minutes later Kane scored a third for Tottenham, breaking his 14-game barren run in the month of August.

The home side closed out the game without any more hiccups and maintained their 100 per cent start to their league campaign.

The Tottenham boss stressed the importance of improvements in certain areas of the pitch despite their win and was disappointed to see the amount of chances his side conceded against Fulham.

Pochettino told the BBC: "Knowing the way we won, we need to improve different areas.

"We changed the set up and used different players, but I think the same things we need to improve.

"I am a little disappointed as we conceded a lot of chances today.

"We dominated and fully deserved the victory, but we conceded too much and we need to be more consistent.”

The Argentine is happy that his side have the maximum points ahead of their trip to Manchester United next week, but stressed the importance of making most of their chances.

"I am so happy because after two weeks we have six points.

"The effort was good and now we need to prepare for the next game against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

"When you dominate a game you need to score more goals so we need to work hard.

"We had a lot of chances to score. We need to be more aggressive."
