Liverpool are sending midfielder Marko Grujic, who has been linked with Leeds United, on loan to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Serbian midfielder has been a man in demand this summer, knocking back offers from both Cardiff City and Middlesbrough, while he was also wanted by Italian side Torino.

CSKA Mosow and Lyon were keen, while he was also listed as a target for Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds in some quarters.

But Grujic is to continue his development at Hertha Berlin, who he will join on a season-long loan deal.

Grujic will first put pen to paper to a new contract before he heads to Germany, signing a deal with Liverpool which will run until 2023.

The midfielder was on loan at Cardiff during the second half of last season and helped the Bluebirds to win promotion from the Championship.

Grujic has been keen to see if openings would present themselves at Liverpool, but is now heading out on a fresh loan deal.

And Jurgen Klopp is likely to keep a close eye on his displays in Germany.
