Celtic skipper Scott Brown has hailed the return of Emilio Izaguirre, while also tipping his hat to Leigh Griffiths, following Saturday's 3-1 win at Partick Thistle.

The Bhoys recently re-signed Izaguirre, who had a spell in the Middle East, and the left-back was named in the starting eleven at Firhill by boss Brendan Rodgers.

Griffiths also started against Partick Thistle and netted Celtic's first as the Bhoys advanced to the next round of the Scottish League Cup.

And Brown, who took to social media to post a photograph of himself celebrating with Griffiths, was pleased to see the striker net and Izaguirre return.

He wrote: "Good result yesterday and back to winning ways.

"Great to see Emilio Izaguirre back at the club and buzzing for Leigh Griffiths to get back on the score sheet."
