Celtic have flatly refused to sell Moussa Dembele to Lyon, despite the player wanting the move to happen.
Dembele is keen to join Lyon and the French giants have lodged several bids with Celtic in an effort to make the deal go through before the deadline.
But Celtic, despite promising Dembele he could leave for an acceptable offer this summer, have slammed the door as they feel there is not enough time for them to land a replacement.
According to French daily Le Parisien, Celtic have sent a message to Lyon informing them they will not sell Dembele today.
As such, Lyon consider the case closed and have turned to other options.
They had been eyeing Fluminense's Pedro in the event they could not sign Dembele, but the Brazilian is currently injured.
Lyon now find themselves in a difficult situation as they try to sign a striker before the window closes.
Dembele meanwhile is unhappy at Celtic's refusal to sell him.
