Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri says that he is relishing the opportunity to be involved in many crucial games as the Reds prepare for a busy schedule of fixtures this month.

Shaqiri made the switch to Anfield in the summer following the relegation of Stoke City to the Championship, but is yet to start a single game for his new club.

The winger was restricted to late cameos off the bench during the opening weekend against West Ham and away from home to Leicester before the international break.

The Switzerland international is yet to make a mark for the Merseyside outfit, but his recent form for the national team suggests that he is ready to play a prominent role in Liverpool’s busy schedule this month.

The 26-year-old admitted that he is relishing the prospect of facing such a stiff challenge early on in the season and added that Liverpool have the quality to get the desired results from the tough set of fixtures.

“I'm looking forward to the game [against Tottenham], especially now [because] in the next few weeks we have a lot of games, a lot of good games, difficult games”, Shaqiri was quoted as saying by Liverpool's official site.

“But we will try to keep our good performances and I hope we can win a lot of games. We train hard every day.

“You can see that there is a lot of quality in our team and we are hard-working every day. And competition in football is also good for the players", he added.

After winning all of their competitive games so far this season, Liverpool are now preparing to face a hectic schedule of seven games in the next 23 days, across three different competitions.
