Former Scotland international Steven Thompson does not believe Celtic are as creative in breaking down opponents as they were when Brendan Rodgers first took charge.

Celtic beat rivals Rangers before the international break and hopes were high that the Bhoys would kick on.

But the Scottish champions were held to a 0-0 draw by St Mirren in Premiership action on Friday night; Celtic lost Olivier Ntcham to a red card in the first half.

Celtic have yet to win in two league away games this season, taking just a point.

Former Scotland and St Mirren star Thompson thinks that Celtic were given a difficult time at St Mirren Park.

However, he indicated that the Celtic of two seasons ago would have found a way to win the game.

"I think St Mirren were great and really well organised, and it's difficult to play against teams like that", he said on BBC Sportsound Facebook Live

"But Celtic don't find the solutions to the problems as much as they did say two years ago when Brendan Rodgers first came up."

Celtic are next in action on Thursday evening when they entertain Norwegian giants Rosenborg at Celtic Park in the Europa League.
