Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has insisted that he believes the Reds can cause a few problems for Paris Saint-Germain if they play to their potential during the Champions League clash between the two sides at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s men will begin their 2018/19 Champions League campaign at home to PSG during their Group C clash on Tuesday night as the Reds aim to put the disappointment of losing out in the final back in May behind them.

Liverpool have been drawn alongside PSG, Napoli and Red Star Belgrade in Group C, making it a competitive and tough group to secure qualification from to the knockout stage.

Henderson, who played the entirety of the 3-1 loss against Real Madrid in last year’s final, insisted that he is confident about Liverpool’s prospects against PSG, if they can play to their potential.

The midfielder also expressed his delight with Liverpool’s impressive start to the season and vouched for the fact that the entire squad will be at their best to try and cause problems for PSG at Anfield.

“We’ve started really well in the Premier League, but we want to start well in every competition so it’s a big game for us”, Henderson told the club’s official website.

“We always want to improve.

“I thought the lads were brilliant at the weekend but we also want to keep improving, we want to keep getting better and hopefully we can do that because it’s [against] a world-class team, world-class players.

“We’ll need to be at our very best to get something from the game. But if we are at our best, which I’m sure we will be, then like I say, we can cause them problems”, he added.

Liverpool have won all five of their opening games in the Premier League so far and will be aiming to start their European campaign on a positive note.
