Leeds United managing director Angus Kinnear has revealed that the Whites’ Championship clash against Birmingham City at Elland Road on Saturday is already sold out and insisted that the fans are buzzing.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men have been the runaway leaders in the Championship so far this season after extending their unbeaten run to eight games following their win over Preston North End on Tuesday.

The Whites have secured 18 points during their unbeaten run so far and on paper there is only one winner when Birmingham City, who are yet to win a single game this season, visit west Yorkshire on Saturday.

Leeds have benefitted tremendously from the appointment of Bielsa and the supporters are finally starting to dream of getting back to England’s top flight next year for the first time since their relegation in 2004.

Kinnear has admitted that the fans are buzzing due to their excellent start to the new season and revealed that the tickets are already sold out for Saturday’s game against the Blues.

“We've already sold out for Saturday. The fans are really excited”, Kinnear told BBC Radio Leeds.

Kinnear also warned that those Leeds players currently injured face a battle to get back in the side.

“I think there's a lot more to come from this team.

“You've still got players out who are going to find it hard to force their way back into the side now”, he added.

Leeds will start the game against Birmingham City as favourites, but they will know that it is too early to draw conclusions regarding guaranteed promotion.
