Birmingham City manager Garry Monk has admitted that Elland Road will be an intimidating place to visit for the Blues as they prepare for the Championship clash against Leeds United on Saturday.

The Blues are yet to register a single win in the Championship this season and are currently languishing in the bottom half of the table in 20th place in the standings.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men on the other hand have had a completely opposite set of fortunes this year under the new manager and are the only remaining unbeaten side in the division.

Leeds United’s 3-0 win over Preston North End on Tuesday at Elland Road meant that the fans are buzzing and it has already been confirmed that tickets are sold out for the clash against Birmingham City.

Monk admitted that visiting Elland Road is an intimidating prospect indeed and added that his team cannot afford any lapses in concentration if they are to come out of the fixture unscathed.

“The Elland Road factor, it’s an intimidating place to go, it’s going to be a full house, so it’s dealing with that factor as well”, Monk told a press conference.

“We need to go there and concentrate on ourselves.

"This week is a big test for us", Monk said.

Monk was in charge of Leeds in the 2016/17 season and led the Whites to a finish of seventh.
