Roma have jumped into the race for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, who has also been on Chelsea’s radar.

Rugani’s future at Juventus has been subject to speculation since the summer when Chelsea wanted to take him to England, but the Bianconeri blocked a deal from happening.

Juventus have been keen to extend his contract, despite the player reportedly being unhappy about his role in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.

Rugani is said to be considering his long-term term future at Juventus as he continues to struggle to become a certain starter with the Italian champions.

And according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are prepared to make a move for Rugani if the defender eventually decide to leave the Bianconeri.

The Giallorossi are in the market for a centre-back and the club are closely considering the possibility snaring the Italy international away from Juventus.

However, negotiations are expected to be difficult as Juventus remain reluctant to lose a player of Rugani’s quality and believe he is the future of their defence.

The centre-back’s current deal runs until the summer of 2021.
