Jurgen Klopp has rubbished speculation of Fabinho leaving Liverpool during the January transfer window amidst interest from Serie A.

The Brazilian has taken his time to make his way into the Liverpool team this season, but has started three of their last four Premier League games.

However, his place in the team has largely been down to the fact that Liverpool have been missing Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson due to injuries.

And the 25-year-old is rated as unlikely to be in the starting eleven when the duo are ready to get into the team again, which has led to rumours over his future at the club.

AC Milan and Juventus are reportedly considering signing him in January, but Klopp stressed that he has been happy with what he has seen of Fabinho this season.

And the German insisted that it is crazy to assume that he will leave just because he has not played regularly for the Reds this season.

The Liverpool manager said in a press conference while addressing the Fabinho rumours: “If he was one for the future and settling, he played three of the last four and did well. It was all good.

“Now the most intense period of the whole season is coming up.

"He has used the time to adjust to what we want him to do.”

He continued: “He has done really good when he has played.

“Of course he will not leave.

"It’s the crazy world out there that if he doesn’t play the last five games then [people say] he will leave.”

Klopp's words are likely to disappoint both AC Milan and Juventus.
