Paris Saint-Germain attacker Julian Draxler has revealed what he has told team-mate Kylian Mbappe about the upcoming Champions League meeting with Liverpool at the Parc des Princes.

PSG are in league action against Toulouse on Saturday, but it is clear that their focus is on the big Champions League group game against Liverpool on Wednesday night.

The Parisians are third in Group C, behind Napoli and Liverpool, but only a point separates the three teams and a win over Liverpool would give the Parisians a huge advantage going into their last group game.

A defeat could potentially end their hopes of reaching the knockout stage and Thomas Tuchel has already confirmed that Mbappe and Neymar will be taken out of the squad for their league game on Saturday.

The two sustained injuries during the international break but are expected to return to action against the Reds – something Draxler is super keen to see Mbappe do.

Draxler has revealed that he has told Mbappe to get fit and fresh for the Liverpool clash and admits that the Champions League game is on the mind of each and every PSG player.

He said in a press conference: “I spoke to Kylian today and told him, ‘you have three to four days to prepare for Liverpool, it will be important for us’.

“It’s clear that we are talking about that game in the dressing room.

"Don’t be afraid, we know it’s an important game.

“We’ll play well against Toulouse tomorrow and after that, we’ll think about Liverpool.”

PSG lost 3-2 at Anfield in September and Draxler admits an improved performance is needed.

He said: “We have to play better than we did there.

“I think everyone will be ready and I am very happy to have the opportunity to play such a big game in front of our supporters.”
