Tottenham Hotspur target Adrien Rabiot has moved further away from a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain after coming close to agreeing on terms on one with the club.

The 23-year-old Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season and is widely expected to leave the Parisians in January or eventually in the summer.

There have been suggestions that Rabiot has been plotting a move away since the end of last season but it has been claimed that he almost agreed on a new deal with the club a few weeks ago.

The midfielder was close to extending his contract and only a few minor details were left to be sorted out, but according to French outlet RMC Sport, that is no longer the case at the moment.

Rabiot’s mind about staying at PSG changed after he was dropped from the starting eleven against Marseille at the end of last month.

He only played a minute of football in the next game against Lille and while he returned to the line-up against Monaco before the break, the damage was done.

The midfielder is no longer sure that he should continue at PSG and the tensions between the two parties have resurfaced.

Clubs such as Tottenham, Barcelona and Juventus have been keeping close tabs on his situation and are interested in snaring him away from PSG.
