Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar will undergo a fitness test on Monday to assess the possibility of him featuring against Liverpool on Wednesday night.

The Brazilan striker limped off the pitch during the international break and is doubtful for PSG’s crucial Champions League clash against Liverpool at home.

He was not in the squad that beat Toulouse on Saturday, but the French champions are hopeful that he will be fit and ready to feature on Wednesday night.

According to French radio station RMC Sport, the Brazilian will undergo a fitness test on Monday, where the progress of his recovery will be assessed carefully by the PSG medical team.

If Neymar manages to pass the tests without feeling any pain, then he will return to training with the rest of the squad on Tuesday ahead of the Champions League game.

The French champions are optimistic about the chances of getting the Brazilian up and running ahead of welcoming Liverpool to the Parc des Princes.

Kylian Mbappe, who also picked up a knock on international duty, was out of the squad on Saturday as well, but is largely expected to play against the Reds.

The Parisians are eyeing a win over the Premier League giants in order to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.
