Manolo Gabbiadini’s agent Silvio Pagliari has admitted he does not know if Southampton will continue to consider his client unavailable for transfer following the sacking of Mark Hughes, and is to head to England to check on the situation.

Southampton sacked Hughes and have replaced him with former RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl after the Saints’ poor run in the Premier League.

Gabbiadini has struggled to make an impact for the Saints so far this season and managed just three starts in the Premier League under Hughes. However, Southampton have been unwilling to sell him in the January transfer window.

The former Napoli striker was linked with a move away from the club in the summer of 2018, but remained with the Saints.

Bologna and Fiorentina have recently been linked with Gabbiadini and Pagliari revealed that La Viola were one of the clubs interested in the Italian in the past.

The 27-year old’s agent feels it could be important for Gabbiadini to remain in the Premier League, but has admitted that there are offers on the table from Italy and he needs to talk with the Saints.

“A week ago he was unavailable, today we do not know, we have to see if the scenarios have changed or not”, Pagliari told Italian radio station RMC Sport.

“I will go to England because in these moments we need clarity even to then think about the transfer market.

"With Corvino [Fiorentina’s technical director] in the past, something was there, but then it did not materialise.

“Right now, I do not even name names because as I said before, for Gabbiadini to remain in the Premier League would still be important.

“Offers have arrived, even from Italy. We will see what will happen."

Gabbiadini has managed to make 58 appearances for Southampton since his move to the Saints in January 2017.
