Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie believes that the work done by Steve Clarke at Kilmarnock is commendable, but it is still too early to predict the future of the Scottish Premiership.

Killie are currently placed on the top of the table with 31 points from 16 games, with Rangers and Celtic hot on their heels, though they have played one and two games fewer respectively.

The teams in the Scottish top division are now entering a busy festive period, with games coming thick and fast before the month comes to an end.

There will be a break post December, with Premiership scheduled to resume once again on 19th January.

Christie, who scored the only goal for the Bhoys in Wednesday night's game against Motherwell, though failing to prevent his side from dropping two points, insists that the way Kilmarnock have played is commendable, but there is still a long way to go.

"It's too early to say, there is such a big run of games for everybody up until the break", Christie was quoted as saying by STV.

"Once we're back after the break, then you can start talking about it.

"Obviously they have been playing really well, the manager there has done a fantastic job.

"But they are coming to our patch on Saturday and we want to be top of the league so are looking to win."

Celtic will have the chance to go above Killie when they take them on this Saturday.
