Leeds United legend Eddie Gray has compared Bailey Peacock-Farrell with Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, due to his
ability to make saves with his feet.

The Whites decided against buying a goalkeeper in the summer and Marcelo Bielsa started the season with the Northern Ireland international as the first choice shot-stopper.

Following a wobbly performance against West Brom before the international break, Peacock-Farrell was on the verge of losing his place in the team but Jamal Blackman’s injury meant he held on to the number 1 shirt.

The 22-year-old made some important saves against Sheffield United last weekend and managed to reestablish himself as the first choice between the sticks.

Gray believes the young goalkeeper has done well at Leeds for his age and has pulled off some very important saves for the Whites.

He also feels the youngster has also been using his feet well, in the same manner as Manchester United's De Gea, to stop the ball from hitting the net and has done well to become the first choice at Leeds despite his tender years.

The Leeds legend said on LUTV when speaking about the Whites number one: “He has made some tremendous saves.

“I think overall the young boy has done tremendously.

"As we say, goalkeepers don’t mature until they are in their late 20s, but he is courageous, comes out and smothers the ball.

“He has made some good saves and important saves.”

“You see the goalkeeper from Manchester United saves a ball with his feet and he does as well.

“He is only a young goalkeeper but he is the number one in that slot right now.”

Leeds have been linked with wanting to sign another goalkeeper in the January transfer window due to Blackman's season-ending injury.
