Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that full-back Serge Aurier has not travelled to Spain with the rest of the squad as he is being assessed over a groin problem, though winger Erik Lamela is available for selection.

The 25-year-old had to be replaced late in the second half of the game against Leicester City, in the 78th minute, by youngster Kyle Walker-Peters.

The Argentine manager has now revealed that there is a problem which will be confirmed after the scan today.

However, he has not travelled with the rest of the squad for the all important game against Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

“Serge is going to have a scan today, he’s going to be out”, Pochettino told his club's official website.

“We think it’s a small problem. We assessed him yesterday but we need to confirm that with the scan.

“We hope it’s not going to be a big issue and that he’s back as soon as possible.”

There is good news as far as Lamela is concerned though, with the winger available. The player has been out with a thigh problem since the 1-0 win against Inter at the end of November.

“He's back and it’s always important that the players are fit to create a problem in my head about the starting eleven.”

Tottenham are currently placed second in Group B with seven points from five games.
