Rangers are tracking Gillingham striker Tom Eaves, according to Sky Sports News, ahead of the opening of the January transfer window in a matter of weeks.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard is looking to bring in a striker after seeing his side suffer when Alfredo Morelos is absent and his eyes have been drawn to England's League One.

Eaves' goalscoring exploits for Gillingham have not gone unnoticed and the man who is the top scorer in League One with 13 goals is now a Rangers target.

The 26-year-old was born in Liverpool, but kicked off his career in the youth ranks at Crewe Alexandra before switching to Oldham Athletic.

Eaves joined Gillingham in 2017 from Yeovil Town and has taken little time to settle in at the Priestfield Stadium.

In total, the striker has scored 31 games across a total of 72 appearances for Gillingham.

It is unclear how much the League One club might demand in order to let Eaves move to Ibrox.

While Eaves is out of contract in the summer, he has also attracted attention from Championship pair Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End.
