Chelsea winger Pedro Rodriguez has stressed the importance of this month as he believes that the flurry of games will give them the chance to reach Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League table.
The Pensioners have lost two of their last four league games and have thus fallen behind in the race for the title, currently placed fourth with 34 points from 16 games.
However, they went one step closer to bridging the gap as they beat defending champions Manchester City 2-0 this weekend, though the points gap still stands at seven.
The former Barcelona man is aware of the importance of the run of games this December, where he believes that his team will have the chance to try and reach the top two teams, that have gone way ahead in the race.
"I think this month is very important for us because there are a lot of points to play for so we have to try to reach Liverpool and City", Pedro told his club's official website.
The involvement though won't be limited to just one competition, with Europa League and EFL Cup games also scheduled, and Pedro believes that it will be crucial that they move step by step without looking too much into the situation.
"All competitions are difficult but the most important thing is to take it step by step, game by game, and recover this feeling and motivation on the pitch.
"When all the team do their job it’s so difficult to beat us."
Chelsea' next match will be in the Europa League against Hungarian side MOL Vidi on Thursday.
