Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has been offered to Barcelona ahead of the January transfer window, it has been claimed.

Morata was the club’s record signing when he joined Chelsea from Real Madrid last year, but the striker is yet to cement his place in the starting eleven at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard has struggled to settle down in England and has suffered similar fates under two different managers; as a result he has been linked with an exit.

A return to Spain has been mooted and it has been claimed that the former Real Madrid man could consider joining Barcelona.

According to Catalan radio station RAC1, Morata’s representatives have offered the striker to Barcelona as the countdown begins for the start of the January window.

The Catalan giants are considering signing a striker in January and Morata has emerged as an option for them in the middle of the season.

Meetings have already taken place between Barcelona and the striker’s entourage to probe the situation, but Chelsea are yet to be contacted.

It remains to be seen whether the Blues agree to sell one of their most expensive signings in the middle of the season without getting in a replacement.
