Chelsea and Liverpool linked Nabil Fekir has not ruled out the possibility of leaving Lyon during the January transfer window.

Fekir came close to joining Liverpool last summer and even recorded a video with the club’s in-house television channel before the Reds sought to make changes to their agreement with Lyon.

The Frenchman has continued to perform consistently at Lyon and Liverpool have continued to be linked, while Chelsea are also mooted to be suitors

Lyon are keen to offer him a new deal on improved terms, but Fekir indicated that no agreement is in place with regards to signing a fresh contract.

Asked about a possible new contract, Fekir told French radio station RMC: “With regards to an extension, I’ll meet the president.”

Fekir was then pushed on staying at Lyon and said: “Why not?”

There has been talk that some of his suitors could make a move for Fekir in January and the player has not completely ruled out the possibility of leaving Lyon in the new year.

“Not at the moment but in football, nothing can be predicted in advance", he said when asked about a January move.

His current deal with Lyon runs until the end of the next season.
