Rangers Under-20s striker Andrew Dallas has expressed his excitement at being involved with the first team after he was named on the bench during the Gers’ win over Hamilton on Sunday.

Dallas, who netted a brace during the young Gers’ impressive 4-2 win over Rapid Vienna, remained on the bench as an unused substitute against Hamilton on Sunday in the Scottish Premiership.

However, the 19-year-old returned to action for Graeme Murty’s side and scored the equaliser during a 2-1 defeat to Hearts in the capital for the Rangers Under-20s team.

Despite not playing a part for the first team on Sunday, Dallas expressed his excitement at being involved in the matchday squad and watching on from the bench as Rangers registered a 1-0 win over Hamilton.

The teenager admitted that it was a great experience and conceded that he was nervous while watching on from the bench.

Dallas also added that it feels good to be recognised with a call-up to the first team for his recent performances and stressed money cannot buy such experiences.

“It was a great experience getting on the bench”, Dallas told the club’s official website.

“I was nervous sitting on the bench and I was hoping for the best when the goal went in after three minutes.

“My eyes lit up. You just have to take these experiences because money can’t buy that.

“So I’ve been working hard and it’s good to see the coaches and obviously the gaffer have trusted me enough to put me on the bench.”

Rangers will next face Hibernian, who are on the back of an impressive win over Celtic, at Easter Road on Wednesday in the Premiership.
