Paris Saint-Germain have been in touch with the representatives of Everton star Idrissa Gueye as they look to sign a midfielder in the January transfer window.

The 29-year-old has emerged as a top midfielder in the Premier League and has been an integral part of Marco Silva’s team this season.




His performances in the English top flight have piqued the interest of the French champions and there are suggestions Everton could soon field offers for him.

PSG are in the market for a midfielder and Gueye is one of the players who feature prominently on their shortlist of targets for the January transfer window.
 


And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Parisians have been in contact with the player’s representatives to discuss the possibility of Gueye moving to the French capital.

The PSG hierarchy are trying to determine whether the former Lille midfielder will consider moving back to France during the winter window before approaching Everton.

The Toffees are unlikely to appreciate offers for one of their most important players during the middle of the season.

The Senegalese’s contract until 2022, but PSG may be hopeful of him pushing for a move if he decides his future lies at the Parc des Princes.
