Chelsea are amongst a long list of clubs who are keeping a close watch on Empoli midfield prodigy Hamed Junior Traore.

A product of the Empoli academy, the 18-year-old midfielder has emerged as one of the first names in their starting eleven this season despite his tender years.

He has only made 27 senior appearances for the club thus far, but they have been enough to attract the prying eyes of several big names of European football over the course of the last few months.

Italian heavyweights AC Milan, Inter, Napoli and Roma have been keeping tabs on his development at Empoli, and Traore has also attracted interest from England.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Chelsea have been keeping watch on his performances over the last several weeks and are considering a move for him in the future.

Chelsea are always on the lookout for young talent and Traore has emerged as a player to watch for the west London club.

Empoli have already ruled out selling the youngster in January and want to at least hold on to him until the end of the season.

The youngster has a contract until 2022 with the Serie A outfit.
