Derby County manager Frank Lampard insists that his team are not taking into account Leeds United's poor form, ahead of the clash between the two teams on Friday, and he is confident the Rams can give anyone a game.

The Rams will be aiming to get back to winning ways and continue their rise in the Championship table when they visit Elland Road to face league leaders Leeds.

Derby suffered a demoralising 4-1 defeat during the reverse fixture at Pride Park in August and will be aiming for a better performance this time around.

Despite being on the receiving end of a thrashing in August, Derby will head into the game on Friday in better shape considering the fact that Leeds have now suffered three straight defeats in all competitions.

However, Lampard admitted that Derby are not paying too much attention to recent form, but insisted he is confident they can give anyone a good game on their day.

Lampard also suggested that Derby have improved a lot since the defeat to Leeds in August and stressed the fact that the trip to Elland Road will be a huge test for his men.

"I’m looking forward to it. It’s a tough match. They played very well and beat us at Pride Park. But I feel we’ve improved a lot since then”, Lampard said in a press conference.

“They have done very well and the league table doesn’t lie.

"It’s a big test for us but we need to believe in ourselves.

“If we can claw back some points on the likes of Leeds, then great.

“We know what a good team they are and we are not really thinking about form.

“If we bring our best game, we can give anyone a good game in this league.”

Derby are currently sixth in the Championship table with 43 points from their 26 games so far this term.
