Belgian outfit Mouscron have stepped up efforts to sign Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi on a loan deal until the end of the season, with the Reds ready to play ball.

The Nigerian forward joined Gent last summer on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool, but has been a bit part player at the club this season.

Gent are prepared to end his loan stint this month and Liverpool are also looking at options to loan out the striker to another club in January.

Awoniyi still has suitors in Belgium despite the limited opportunities he has received at Gent and Mouscron are interested in taking him up on another loan move.

According to Belgian daily Derniere Heure, the Belgian outfit have been in negotiations with the player’s representatives and Liverpool in order to secure his signature this month, and are stepping up their efforts.

Liverpool are fully prepared to send him on loan against to Mouscron as they look for a solution for the talent.
