Rangers striker Eduardo Herrera has completed a loan move to Mexican side Necaxa and will spend the rest of the season at the club.

Herrera signed for Rangers under Pedro Caixinha in the summer of 2017, but did not have a good spell with the Light Blues and was subsequently out of favour after Caixinha’s departure.

The 30-year old featured in 19 Scottish Premiership games for the Gers and managed just one goal in what was a disappointing spell during the 2017/18 season.

Herrera was sent out on loan to Mexican side Santos Laguna in the summer of 2018, but will serve the remainder of the season at Necaxa after his loan deal with Santos Laguna expired on 1st January.

The striker had managed just five appearances in the Mexican league for Santos Laguna and will hope for more playing time with Necaxa.

Rangers have already signed Jermain Defoe on an 18-month loan deal from Premier League side Bournemouth.
