Roberto Pereyra’s agent has confirmed that there have been talks with Watford with regards to Torino’s interest in the midfielder and admits that his client would love to work under Walter Mazzarri again.

Torino have identified the former Juventus midfielder as their top priority for the January transfer window and are keen to take him back to Italy in the coming days and weeks.

The midfielder has so far remained tight-lipped about the prospect of returning to Italy and there has been little indication to suggest that Watford are prepared to sell.

But Pereyra’s agent, Sergio Furlan, has finally broken the wall of silence and conceded that his client would love to work again under the tutelage of current Torino coach, Mazzarri, who also managed him at Watford.

He also added that Torino have already opened negotiations with Watford, indicating that the midfielder’s return to Italy is a real possibility this month.

The midfielder’s agent told Turin-based daily Tuttosport: “It’s true that Pereyra loves Mazzarri and Torino want him.

It remains to be seen whether Watford and Torino manage to work out a compromise that would see the midfielder return to Turin this month.
