Former Scotland international Alan Rough has claimed that Celtic fans would not miss Olivier Ntcham, if he decides to leave Parkhead, amidst speculation surrounding his future this month.

Ntcham, who joined the Scottish champions from Manchester City in 2017, has been attracting serious interest from FC Porto, who failed to secure his services in the summer.

However, the Portuguese giants have opted against giving up on their chase for the midfielder as they aim to enter negotiations with Celtic over a permanent transfer this month.

The 22-year-old has come in for criticism from the Celtic fans due to his recent performances and is believed to be interested in leaving Scotland as he seeks greater visibility in another league.

And amidst serious interest from Porto in Ntcham, Rough feels the Celtic faithful would not be up in arms if the club decide to cash in on the player during the winter transfer window.

Rough also claimed that Ntcham would not be missed at Parkhead as he has struggled to establish himself with the fans at Celtic and admitted the business could be another massive financial bonus.

“As far as Ntcham is concerned, they’ve done what they said they were going to do, buy somebody cheap and sell them on and he comes in to that category”, Rough said on a PLZ Soccer.

“And it’s another massive financial bonus, but I don’t think the supporters would be up in arms about him leaving.

“I don’t think he has established himself as a big, big hero with the supporters, so I don’t think he would be sadly missed.”

Ntcham has scored six goals from 30 appearances in all competitions for Celtic so far this season.
