Claim From Italy: No Roma Contact, But Agent Confirms Spurs Keen On Malcom

The agent of Barcelona winger Malcom has confirmed the interest of Tottenham Hotspur in client, but denied Roma being in the mix.

Barcelona signed the winger from under Roma’s noses last summer and in the process also beat off competition from several other clubs in Europe.

However, 21-year-old has been a bit part player at Barcelona this season and injuries and a lack of form means that he has made just one start in the league for the Catalan giants.

His future at the club has come under the microscope in the winter window and there are suggestions that he could leave Barcelona this month.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with an interest in Malcom, while it has also been suggested that Roma could be back in the mix.

But agent Fernando Garcia has denied contact with Roma, while confirming Tottenham's interest, according to Italian outlet La Roma 24.

Tottenham were not expected to be busy during the winter window, but Harry Kane’s ankle injury has forced the club back into the market.

It is unclear whether Barcelona will allow Malcom to leave this month, but he has yet to impress in a blue and red shirt.
