AC Milan are close to reaching an agreement with Genoa for the signature of Krzysztof Piatek, who is also wanted by West Ham United.

The Rossoneri jumped into the transfer market this month for a striker after it became clear Gonzalo Higuain wanted to leave join Chelsea this winter.

A number of strikers were under their radar but Piatek quickly emerged as their top target and the club have been working behind the scenes to get a deal over the line Genoa.

West Ham have tabled two offers for Piatek, but Genoa have always been keen to sell the Pole to the Rossoneri and have prioritised negotiations with the Serie A giants.

And it seems an agreement is close and, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs are close to working out a deal for Piatek’s move to the San Siro this month.

Genoa have been asking for a fee around the €40m mark, but the price could come down to €35m as AC Milan are ready to offer a player as part of the deal.
