Gonzalo Higuain is set to fly to England early next week to complete the formalities of a move to Chelsea, it has been claimed.

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Juventus to sign the striker on a loan deal until the end of the season, which would end his stint at AC Milan.

AC Milan are prepared to let the player go and have identified Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek to replace him, and are working to get the deal over the line in the coming days.

There were suggestions Chelsea wanted to get the deal done before facing Arsenal today but nothing of that sort happened.

Higuain is expected to stay in Italy over the weekend and according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, he will fly out to England early next week to complete the Chelsea move.

The striker is waiting for the permission from AC Milan, who are not prepared to let him go until they have Piatek in the bag as his replacement.

However, the two deals are moving along smoothly and the Argentine will be in London next week to undergo a medical ahead of signing a contract with Chelsea.

Chelsea will have an option to extend the loan for one more year if the striker hits certain targets this season.
