Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has expressed his delight after signing a new contract with the club.

The 20-year old has become an integral part of the side after being promoted from the academy to the first team in 2016.

Alexander-Arnold has amassed 67 appearances already for the club, and was named the club's Young Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018.

The defender insists that when offered a fresh deal he never had any doubt over signing and credited those around him for making his decision easy.

“There was no doubt in my mind to sign and extend the years I have with the club. Hopefully we can achieve a lot of success in those years", Alexander-Arnold told the club's official website

“As soon as they offered the contract, there was no hesitation whatsoever.

"The thing that made it easiest for me was having the people around me to make sure I was able to focus on football as much as possible and get the deal done as soon as possible. "

The right-back has made 17 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, and has managed one goal and three assists in the process.

Alexander-Arnold is currently out of action due to a knee injury and might miss the Reds' next game, but is expected to return next week.

Liverpool take on Crystal Palace later today, and will hope to increase their lead over Manchester City who do not play until Sunday.
