Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock believes both Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have done an incredible job at Manchester City and Liverpool, but finds it interesting that the Bluebirds might have a say in the title race.

Liverpool returned to the top of the table after their 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, and will want Cardiff City to do them a favour and stop Manchester City from winning their game in hand.

Warnock’s side, on the other hand, were on the wrong hand of several refereeing decisions, and lost 2-1 to Chelsea on Sunday.

The Welsh side are five points adrift of safety, and Warnock, who was frustrated after the result against Chelsea, had hinted that he would play the Cardiff Under-23 side against Manchester City.

Warnock has allayed Liverpool fans’ fears that he will play a changed side, but has admitted that it is interesting his side can potentially decide the title race.

“I won’t field a weakened side against Liverpool don’t worry and I’ll make sure my lads are right up for this one”, Warnock told a press conference.

“It’s interesting that we could decide the Premier League.

"I wonder what the reaction would be if that decision happens to Liverpool or Man City on the last day of the season.

“Jurgen has done a fantastic job getting to where they are. Pep is another level, I admire what they’re doing for English football.

“I think the top four have moved up a step and the top two have gone up even further. Everything has got to fit into place.

“Every one of your players have got to play above themselves, all their players have to play below themselves. And you’ve got to be so careful when their quick lads are running into the penalty box.”

A win for Cardiff City would see them close the gap on 17th placed Burnley to just two points.
