West Ham will send scouts to watch Genoa striker Christian Kouame in the Derby della Lanterna against Sampdoria next weekend.

With Andy Carroll set to leave and question marks over Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez’s futures at the club, West Ham are eyeing the summer window to bolster or reshape their forward line.




The Hammers are already keeping close tabs on Roma striker Edin Dzeko, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the Giallorossi at the end of the season.

But West Ham also one want more one more striker at least and are again looking at the Italian market for solutions.
 


And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, they will send scouts to Italy this weekend to watch Sampdoria and Genoa face off at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in a local derby.

The West Ham observers have been given instructions to keep close tabs on Genoa striker Kouame ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old has scored four goals in Serie A this season and his overall performances have piqued the interest of West Ham.

However, they will likely find themselves facing competition for his signature, as Napoli have been working behind the scenes to make a move for Kouame in the summer.
